This review examines gender disparities in labour market outcomes in Estonia, focusing on the wage gap between men and women with comparable skills, both within and across firms. The analysis then addresses policy options to strengthen support for families with young children, combat gender-based discrimination and enhance women’s bargaining power within firms, as well as challenge traditional gender norms in educational settings and beyond. The review concludes by assessing the potential economic benefits of achieving greater gender equality.
I contributed to several chapters, including the report's three policy chapters: A summary view of support for families with very young children in Estonia; Combating gender-based discrimination and enhancing women’s bargaining power within firms in Estonia; Chasing out traditional gender norms, in educational settings and beyond in Estonia.
